El Comandante — a 2:13 film made with Y-O-X

El Comandante is a two minute thirteen second fiction short made entirely with Y-O-X. No timeline was opened, nothing was uploaded, and no footage was shot. It began as a screenplay and was directed in language.

The screenplay is published in full alongside it. That is deliberate. Read it and you have seen the entire input — there is no hidden pass of manual compositing, no plate photography, no quiet rescue in post by someone who knows the software well. What the system was given is on the page, and what it returned is on the screen. Anyone is free to judge the distance between the two.

It is offered as evidence rather than as a showreel. Demonstrations of AI video almost always show the best four seconds, which proves that a model can produce one good image and nothing about whether it can produce a film. A short has to hold a performance, a tone, a sense of place and an ending together for over two minutes, and it has to make the cuts land. That is a materially harder test, and a considerably more honest one to publish.
