Y-O-X Studio Terms of Service
Effective date: 22 October 2026 Company: Y-O-X LTD (company number 16012843) Registered office: 100 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 5JD, England Public URL: https://www.y-o-x.com/terms.html Contact: we@y-o-x.com
These Terms govern your use of Y-O-X Studio, including its iOS application, website, APIs and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, selecting an acceptance control, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you accept on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16, or the higher age required in your country, to use the Service. You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and tell us promptly about unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
2. The Service
Y-O-X Studio lets you chat with a studio system, manage projects and production materials, request media generation, review outputs and approve production actions. Features depend on third-party infrastructure and models and may change, be limited by plan, or be unavailable temporarily.
The Service is not a backup or archival service. You are responsible for exporting important content and maintaining independent backups.
3. Subscriptions and App Store purchases
The iOS application offers monthly auto-renewable subscriptions and consumable production-balance purchases. Product names, prices, periods and availability are shown by Apple and may vary by country and tax treatment.
Purchases made through the iOS application are billed by Apple and are governed by Apple’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the Apple account settings before renewal. Y-O-X cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled through Apple, subject to Apple’s policies and applicable law.
Y-O-X verifies Apple’s signed transaction information before granting subscription access or production balance. Consumable production balance has no cash value, is not transferable, and may be used only for eligible Service operations. Fraudulent, reversed, refunded or revoked transactions may have their associated access or balance removed.
4. Prices and taxes
Prices are displayed before purchase. Taxes and local pricing may be included or calculated by Apple. We may change prices or plan features as permitted by law and Apple’s rules. Changes to recurring charges will be presented with the notice required by law.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- upload malware or content that is unlawful, exploitative, hateful, abusive or defamatory;
- upload a person’s image, voice, face or personal data without the required permission and lawful basis;
- impersonate another person or access another account;
- bypass limits, security controls, billing controls or approval requirements;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service;
- use the Service for high-risk decisions or activities where failure could cause death, injury or serious damage;
- use generated material to mislead, defraud, harass or violate applicable law.
You are responsible for your content, your instructions to the Service, your users and the permissions needed for any third-party material.
6. Your content and generated material
You retain rights in content you submit, subject to the rights of others. You grant Y-O-X a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, transmit, display, transform and process that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, comply with law, prevent abuse and resolve disputes.
Y-O-X does not use your scripts, prompts, conversations or generated media to train foundation models. This does not give you rights in third-party material, model outputs that are not protectable by law, or content that incorporates another person’s rights.
You are responsible for reviewing outputs before publication or use. Outputs may be inaccurate, similar to existing material, or unsuitable for a particular purpose.
7. Intellectual property
Y-O-X and its licensors own the Service, software, design, trademarks, documentation and other platform materials. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on hosting, storage, authentication, payment, AI, media and other third-party services. Those providers may impose additional terms and privacy policies. Y-O-X is not responsible for independent provider outages, changes or processing outside its control.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address security, fraud, legal, payment, abuse or operational risks. We will restore access when the reason is resolved where reasonably possible.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion through the application. Account deletion is intended to remove account-associated projects, chats, files and records after the deletion workflow succeeds, subject to legally required retention, deletion records, backups and third-party retention.
We may terminate an account for a material breach, non-payment, fraud, legal requirement or serious risk to the Service or others. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights.
10. Refunds, cancellation and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded. Consumers may have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and other applicable law.
For a direct contract with Y-O-X, UK and EEA consumers generally have a 14-day cooling-off period for a service contract. If you expressly ask us to begin supplying the Service during that period, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the Service supplied before cancellation. For digital content supplied during the cooling-off period, the right to cancel may end once supply begins only where you have expressly consented to early supply and acknowledged that the right to cancel will be lost. We will provide confirmation of that consent and acknowledgement where required.
If a consumer cancels a direct Y-O-X contract, we will process any required refund within the period required by applicable law, using the original payment method where practicable. Mandatory rights relating to defective, misdescribed, unavailable or improperly supplied digital services continue to apply.
For App Store purchases, Apple controls billing, subscription cancellation and its refund process. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and request an App Store refund through Apple. This does not remove any mandatory consumer right that applies to the transaction. For any direct purchase from Y-O-X, contact we@y-o-x.com and we will apply the refund and cancellation rights required by law.
11. Privacy and security
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data, including our 90-day ordinary-log period and up-to-seven-year accounting-record period. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, permanently available or suitable for every purpose. We do not guarantee that content will not be lost, corrupted or unrecoverable.
The Service does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice.
13. Liability
Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings, data or content, or losses caused by third-party services or networks.
For business users, our total aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees paid to Y-O-X for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 where no fee was paid. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to non-excludable consumer rights.
14. Changes and availability
We may update these Terms or change the Service for security, legal, technical or operational reasons. For material changes, we will provide notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that consumers may use mandatory protections and courts available in their country of residence.
